Sara Ali Khan will be starring opposite Ranveer Singh in Simmba

Saif Ali Khan's daughter only wants to work alongside Bollywood's A-listers, and it seems like that's just how her career is panning out.

Young starlet Sara Ali Khan will be starring opposite heartthrob Ranveer Singh in cop drama Simmba, confirmed Indian Express.

Rumour had it that before Sara, Janhvi Kapoor was being considered for the female lead; however, it looks like the filmmakers have come to a decision. Although Sara's role has not been revealed, Ranveer's character in the film is of a police officer.

Dharma Productions released a statement that read: "After the release of the first poster which featured Ranveer Singh, there was immense curiosity on who would be cast as the film’s female lead. Now it’s confirmed. Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar have signed Sara Ali Khan for the film, which will be directed by Rohit. Sara will be seen opposite Ranveer, who plays the role of a notorious cop Sangram Bhalerao."

Sara Ali Khan is currently shooting for her debut film Kedarnath alongside Sushant Singh Rajput.

Simmba will hit screens late December this year, around the same time Kedarnath is set to release.
