In next film, Kajol goes from single mother to singing superstar

Thought Dilwale was the last you'd see of Kajol? Wrong!

After her return to Tamil cinema in Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 opposite Dhanush, Kajol is set to give her Bollywood fans another thrilling performance in a film about a singer called Ela.

The film is reported to be going on floors later this week on January 24.

In the film, which is co-produced by hubby Ajay Devgn, Kajol stars as an aspiring singer. It's said that her character wants to become a singer since she was a child but an early marriage thwarts those dreams. When she gets divorced, she rediscovers her passion while she raises her son on her own.

Sounds like an inspiring story and one that we'd like Kajol to finally shine in... 'cos let's face it, Dilwale was a bit of a let-down).

The release date for Ela is not yet known.
