"We're not portraying a Gandhi-like character. We're portraying a very fraud man," RK continued.
Sanju Baba has had quite a life; as a Bollywood star, as a family man and as a former convict who has had quite a few run ins with the law.
"He's someone who is loved and disliked. He's the most controversial, and to have the ability to tell about your life so honestly, and to make a movie out of it is very brave."

Kapoor further said: "If I was in his position, I don't think I could be this honest about my life, and make myself look like a person who is not nice. If an audience can take something from that and learn something from his life, I think it’s a very positive thing."
The biopic, yet to be titled, is slotted for release in 2018. It features Manisha Koirala as the Sanju Baba's late mother Nargis Dutt, Paresh Rawal as his father Sunil Dutt, and Dia Mirza as Sanju's current wife, Manayata Dutt.
