Ed Sheeran's cameo in Game of Thrones causes uproar on Twitter

Ed Sheeran and Game of Thrones is a combination GoT fans are finding hard to accept.

The show's season 7 premiere episode' Dragonstone' came out yesterday and British pop star Ed Sheeran made a special appearance, kicking off the new season.

Spoiler alert

The Grammy winner plays a member of a group of traveling soldiers previously stationed in King's Landing who sang a song to capture the attention of Arya Stark.

Arya joins the group of soldiers, breaks bread with them and informs them about her plans in King's Landing.

Alhough Sheeran's character didn't reveal his name, his character did have a few lines and was onscreen for the entirety of the scene.

Twitter was abuzz post Sheeran's GoT appearance, with some expressing shock, others swooning over his cameo and the usual blood mongers expressing frustration that he wasn't killed off the classic *GoT style.

Some just didn't understand why he was in the show

One fan didn't find it hard to recognise the singer

Others couldn't help but poke fun at the singer's cameo, Ed Sheeran style

This one had a 'you can't sit with us' moment aimed straight at Sheeran

Others questioned the creative direction the show was taking

And of course, the blood thirsty, who want Sheeran dead... GoT style
