Ed Sheeran will make a guest appearance in Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones just got more exciting, when we didn't think it possibly could!
In the latest update, makers of the fantasy drama have announced that English singer, songwriter Ed Sheeran will be a part of the HBO series' forthcoming season in a guest role.
Sheeran took to Twitter to share the news:
But unlike other guest appearances, this one holds a special meaning for one of the GoT stars. According The Guardian, the show's creators Benioff and Weiss tried "for years to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie Williams, and this year we finally did it."
The singer's role in the show has not yet been disclosed. Looks like we'll just have to wait and see what the makers have in store for us.
GoT is known for incorporating star guest appearances and Sheeran is the not the first musician to be featured in the drama. Previously, Coldplay’s Will Champion, Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, bands Mastodon, Of Monsters and Men and Sigur Rós have all played a role in the series.
