Riz Ahmed and Aziz Ansari bag multiple Emmy nominations
Nabbing an Emmy nod isn't a piece of cake but leave to these two overachievers to make the cut for this year's list.
Riz Ahmed has landed a nomination in the Lead Actor in a Limited TV Series or TV Movie category for his performance in HBO's The NIght Of where he played a college student, Nasir Khan who's wrongfully accused of murder. The category also includes Robert De Niro, Geoffrey Rush and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Night Of has also received a nod in the Limited Series category. In addition, Riz also landed a nod in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, for his appearance in Girls
Aziz Ansari received a nomination for his role as Dev Shah in Masters of None. He will be up against the likes of Zach Galifianakis and Donald Glover for the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award.
The actor also earned a nomination in the Writing for a Comedy Series category. The show itself has also landed a spot in the Comedy Series category.

While this is the first time Riz Ahmed has appeared in the Emmy nominations, Aziz Ansari had received several nods last year for the first season of Masters of None. Out of the four nominations, he bagged an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
With the Emmys scheduled on 17 September 2017, you can be sure we'll be tuning in to see if these men go home with a trophy. Here's hoping!
