Aishwarya Rai will make her singing debut in a musical comedy with Anil Kapoor

Last seen together in Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai 17 years ago, Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor are now all set to be featured in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's upcoming film, Fanney Khan.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, the film is based on the Academy Award-nominated Dutch film Everybody’s Famous and presents a story of a 17-year-old aspiring singer whose career takes off after her unemployed father, who also nurses the dreams of becoming a musician, decides to kidnap the top singer of the country.

Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai stars to re-unite once again 17 years later.

Yep, you read it right, folks! Aish can sing too. The former Miss World will be playing the role of a famous spunky singer with an enchanting ‘highly stylized’ retro look, who eventually gets kidnapped by Anil Kapoor's character.

Well, we can't say much about the originality of the film's concept but what we know for sure is that we can't wait for the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor to make her singing debut; Anil Kapoor too will be belting out a few songs in the comedy-musical.

The film is slated to go on floors in August.
