Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promised a safe release in India

Seems like Karan Johar's plea did not land on deaf ears as the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh promises a safe release of Bollywood films on Diwali.

A latest development on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's release states that all Bollywood films have been granted a '100% safe and secure' release in light of the recent MNS protests and attacks, reports Indian Express.

President of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, Mukesh Bhatt met Rajnath Singh on Thursday to discuss the possible outcome of ADHM. Director Karan Johar, who was also supposed to be present at the meeting, was forced to skip it as he was caught up with the post production of his film in Mumbai, claim sources.

“We are entertainers. We are interested in working with artistes, and not whether they belong to Pakistan, China or Africa," said Bhatt after his meeting with Singh.

Bhatt also met with Mumbai police to ensure that all cinemas screening the film are not attacked and are protected.

"I will give them 200 per cent marks to Mumbai police. But the film isn’t releasing just in Mumbai. We want to safeguard ourselves, so who better than the home minister? It is his domain," he said, assured that the police will fulfill their duty.

He stands by his decision and hopes the government is by his side too: "We want to celebrate Diwali. We want to get entertained with a good family entertainer film. I feel that the state is definitely going to give me support and protection against people who want to create violence for no reason."

"India is a free country, but at least you should not stop people and then stop people violently. That is something I feel that the government of today should have zero tolerance towards, violence."

Earlier, 12 Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) members were arrested for protesting inside a local Mumbai cinema against the screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on Wednesday, reported Times of India.

Rest assured, the Bollywood fraternity can breathe a sigh of relief that the MNS will not attack cinemas screening Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film will release on October 28.
