Get ready to see Mahira Khan as the leading lady in Shoaib Mansoor's 'Verna'

The man, credited for the revival of Pakistani cinema, is back.

Shoaib Mansoor, who has blockbusters like Bol and Khuda Ke Liye to his credit, will be releasing his much-awaited comeback flick, Verna on Eid-ul-Fitr next year.

And if that wasn't enough to get you excited, Mahira Khan is all set to be his leading lady!

"Shoaib sahab called me for this just like he had called me five years ago for Bol, wondering if I'd be interested in working with him," shared Mahira with Images.

"I was just happy to hear from him after so long. It's a film tackling a certain social issue... [I'm] taking it up as a challenge."

"He wants to cast new people for the other roles," she added.

On announcing his next venture, the director who has also written the script for the movie, shared, "This film is being made by a man of Pakistan, to urge the men of the world to listen to women. It will encourage women to speak up. Khuda ke liye bol verna... (For God's sake, speak up, or else...)"

Sultana Siddiqui, President HUM Network stated, “We at HUM are very happy to have signed up as distributors for Shoaib Mansoor’s film Verna. He is a brilliant director and his views on subjects that are close to our hearts as well, are similar. Shoaib’s films are commercial but at the same time focus on topics that carry a strong message."

"We're hopeful that this film will be even more successful than his previous ones."

Verna's got some pretty big shoes to fill but we have a feeling the ace filmmaker is up to the challenge.
