Sonam Kapoor says she's disheartened that Neerja isn't releasing in Pakistan

It's a shame that Ram Madhvani's Neerja, which released in India today will not be seeing the light of day in Pakistan.

And that's led to it's leading lady, Sonam Kapoor being "extremely disheartened".

The movie is about the life of slain flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life to save over 300 passengers from terrorists who hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan.

Sonam seemed confident in the fact that the movie might get released in Pakistan once it was released worldwide.

Sonam's co-star, veteran actress Shabana Azmi had also expressed similar sentiments earlier, sharing, "There is no way that we will tell a story in which a woman was awarded a medal by the Pakistani government and show the country in poor light. I’m really confident that when they'll [censor board] watch the movie, they will realize their apprehensions were completely misfounded.”

Since we can't watch the movie just yet, here's the trailer:
