Pop superstar Lady Gaga welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky, US media reported Friday.

The 40-year-old ‘Bad Romance’ singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, began dating Polansky in 2020, and became engaged to the entrepreneur in 2024.

A source confirmed news of the child’s birth to Page Six and People, but no additional details about the baby, including its name, sex or date of birth, were immediately available.

The musician affectionately referred to as “Mother Monster” by her fans has spoken in recent years about her desire to have a child.

In March last year, Gaga told the New York Times, “I am excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it.”

“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”

Gaga also admitted that she had wrestled with how motherhood would fit into a life and career that revolved around her for decades.

“I am also kind of at war with myself sometimes as I get ready to, hopefully, become a mom soon,” she told the outlet. “Like, today is wonderful, but the whole day has revolved around me. There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this.”

She wrapped up her most recent world tour, the Mayhem Ball, in April, and her latest album Mayhem garnered multiple Grammy nominations, winning the award for Best Pop Vocal Album earlier this year.
