Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja, have become parents again with the birth of their second child on Sunday.

Announcing the new addition to the family on social media, Sonam said, “With immense gratitude and hearts full of love, we are delighted to announce the arrival of our baby boy today, 29th of March 2026.”

In her note signed by herself, her husband and their older son Vayu, the actor said their family had grown and their “hearts have expanded in the most beautiful way” with the arrival of the little one.

She added that Vayu was “overjoyed” to have become an older brother.

Sonam said the family felt “deeply blessed by this precious new life who has filled our home with happiness and grace,” and were “grateful to begin this beautiful new chapter as a family of four”.

Her girlfriends from the industry sent loads of congratulations in the comment section, with Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Zoya Akhtar sending her heaps of hearts.

The baby’s grandfather — and Sonam’s dad — Anil Kapoor also posted the couple’s message on his Instagram account with a few thoughts of his own in the caption.

Addressing the newborn, he said, “Welcome to the world, my little one, you are already so deeply loved.” To his older brother, he said, “Vayu, you’re a big brother now… and I know you’ll be amazing.”

Thanking the couple for bringing him such joy, Anil said, “Nana’s heart is full.” He welcomed the baby to “the madness”, but also to “a lifetime of love”.

Sonam and Ahuja got married in 2018 in an intimate wedding surrounded by close friends and family. This was around three years after they first crossed paths during the promotions of her film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

The couple welcomed their first child in 2022 and announced Sonam’s second pregnancy in November.
