Aima Baig turns 31 with a note on grief, gratitude and growing up in the spotlight
Aima Baig turned 31 this week and judging by her latest Instagram post, she had a small celebration with the people who matter most whilst reflecting on her life in the spotlight rather than being out galavanting.
Dropping a carousel of snapshots from the day — not a polished photo dump of birthday theatrics — she shared mostly selfies, a picture with fellow singer Asim Azhar, and a moment from a small cake-cutting surprise apparently organised by friends and colleagues while she was at work.
Another photo showed Baig proudly presenting a shopping haul to her father, who rolled his eyes when she tried to pass it off as “self care”. The expression, caught perfectly on camera, seemed to suggest he wasn’t entirely convinced.

The post came with a lengthy caption in which the singer explained what the day actually looked like behind the pictures.
Baig began by admitting she isn’t particularly fond of birthdays — unless they’re a moment to remember someone “gone but unforgettable”. The first person on her mind that morning, she wrote, was her late mother.
She said she woke up early, thought about her mother and spent some time reflecting before heading straight to work, something she jokingly described as a mix of “work”, “mazdoori (labour)” and occasionally “majboori (compulsion)”.
Still, she added that she remains grateful to be able to live the dream she’s built through music, even if the journey has come with its fair share of public scrutiny.
“Thank God every day I get to live my dream… all because of y’all,” she wrote, thanking fans for what she described as a constant stream of “love and hate” that has, over time, become more entertaining than frustrating.
The most emotional moment of the day, she said, was the small cake-cutting surprise organised by her inner circle at work — something that caught her off guard and reminded her of the people who have stuck around.
Reflecting on turning 31, Baig also pointed out that much of her life has unfolded in public view. “From 18 years old to 31 years it’s been — which means no BS no more,” she wrote, adding that fans have essentially watched her grow up.
One slide in the carousel also featured a note for Pisces — Baig’s star sign — that spoke about transformation, vulnerability and letting go of old versions of oneself. The message described the month as a time of “aha” moments and creative spark. It also encouraged Pisces to stop forcing situations or relationships just to keep the peace and instead allow things to “flow out” of their lives without resentment.

The singer ended the post by thanking supporters for their birthday wishes before casually summing up how the rest of the day played out — she went out, ate some food and then went to sleep, which, she said, was “the best part”.
She also left followers with a piece of tongue-in-cheek advice: never miss that good morning light hitting your camera.
Between the remembrance of her mother, a surprise cake at work and a dad unimpressed by a “self-care” shopping spree, Baig’s birthday appeared to be exactly what many people, mostly introverts, hope theirs will be — low-key, slightly chaotic and spent with the right people.
