Netflix releases trailer for K-pop group BTS’ reunion concert livestream
K-pop’s biggest names are back in the game and they’re going all out for their reunion this month. Supergroup BTS and Netflix released the trailer for their upcoming concert livestream, which premieres on March 21.
The trailer is set in Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square, which will be hosting their first group performance since all seven members completed their military service earlier in June.
The group had been on hiatus for nearly four years as members were conscripted and took time to pursue solo projects. The concert will come a day after the release of the group’s fifth album, Arirang, and will be followed by an expansive world tour through 2026 and into 2027.
The members can be seen posing around the square’s centuries-old buildings as their song ‘Mikrokosmos’ plays. A voiceover from band leader, RM, says, “We promised our fans that we’d be back,” followed later by another voiceover in Korean explaining that all the members had evolved greatly during their time away.
The trailer comes on the heels of the track list for Arirang, which released on Tuesday. The 14-song list includes the album’s lead single ‘Swim’, which centres on the resolve to keep moving forward despite life’s turbulent waves.
The tracks all carry English titles, which may indicate the group chose to continue leaning towards Western listeners despite hinting at a more Korean theme with the album’s name — the song ‘Arirang’ holds deep cultural significance in Korea and is considered an anthem of unity between the North and South.
The concert stream on Netflix will start at 8pm in Seoul or 4pm in Pakistan.
