We should have just stuck to the boycott, say fans after humiliating Pakistan vs India T20

Most are wondering why they bothered to get their hopes up in the first place.
15 Feb, 2026

In an entirely expected turn of events, the Pakistan cricket team let down its fans once again in a match against India. So much so, that fans think they should have just stuck to boycotting the match in the first place.

The Pakistan versus India T20 World Cup match on Sunday ended in frustration for the green shirts with a 61-run loss. Fans were annoyed — mostly at themselves for expecting anything different.

Even the most nonchalant of fans were screaming on the inside.

Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up a lot of new haters for his spectacularly poor performance.

Babar Azam’s haters resurfaced too.

Honestly, the only way to watch a Pakistan vs India match these days is with a blindfold on.

Especially because they’re no longer any fun.

There were so many missed chances!

People are fed up.

Fans wished we had just stuck to the boycott — at least we’d have had a better Sunday evening.

Or just stopped playing altogether.

And on a Sunday night, no less!

Our lives could be so peaceful…

There were a few bright moments though. Saim Ayub gained quite a few fans — before being struck out, of course.

Usman Tariq did too, even though he got it very, very wrong.

And the coin toss visuals were pretty funny.

Plus, there was Salman Ali Agha “aurafarming”.

And Surya Kumar Yadav doing the opposite.

Dearest readers, we hope you spared yourself the agony of watching the match and were content to look up memes instead.

India played well, Pakistan team played very poorly, if they bat first after winning the toss may bring better results and chances to win against India. Just guessing.

Win or loose, we will always support our shaheens in GREEN. This is just a game. Long live Pakistan.

Some fans' comments are just sour grapes. Greatness, is not only winning trophies but trying, failing and coming back stronger to win big someday. Be humble and work hard. You learn a lot by struggling.

Boycott would definitely have saved Pakistan from embarrassment school boys could have done a better job. Pakistan always nervous against stronger teams specially away from home grounds.

This result was very much expected. Our team has no nerve to play team India, by the way one cannot continue to boycott.

Interior Ministry should consider stopping the Pakistan team from international travel, same way they stop poor labourers at airports. But wait, the real problem in Interior Ministry is also PCB. Hahaha

I always thought Pakistani Batsmen play like Amateurs but now they have proven that in reality they are the permanent Amateurs. What a terrible totally disappointing performance. Rightfully categorised by DAWN as complete humiliation.?

Already knew it, India never plays Pakistan when their team is weak. Our cricket leaders are not as smart, Indians made $200 million and we got $35. At least demand equal revenue if nothing else.

What a pleasure it was watching this game. Pakistan’s antics never fail to amuse. First boycott, then not. Then “mystery” spin bowler who turned out not to be so mysterious after all. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Boycott would have been better option and face saving. Pakistan-India matches do not create hype but just onsided drubbing. Though PCB saved its face but its us audience that has to face nightmare. Pakistan cricket team is good at politics but bad at giving performance. There needs to be drastic changes in team and PCB after end of world cup. Its better to let Namibia or US qualify, at least they play fearless and attacking cricket while our team plays mentally torturing game.

Pakistan played, and that was the right thing to do. One team will lose, and that must be acceptable. There was too much bickering and procrastination, which could have upset the rhythm of the team. Just move forward. It is all over now.

Great game India it must be said! It was a thoroughly botched performance by the green shirts who lived up to their billing and CHOKED when it mattered most.YET again, all the hopes and aspirations of millions in Pakistan teetering on the one game were woefully dashed. What a let down....

Defeating India was an overly ambitious endeavour but the Pakistani' s could have given a better account of themselves.Pakistan never showed up and the picture of Mr Agha clasping his head says it all.Pathetic.

All the honest criticism of the pakistan team for the fiasco, the team must take it on the chin and regroup and muster the resilience and courage to rise from the ashes. The men in green are still in with a slim chance and a shot at redemption against all odds. They will have to dig deep to stay in the tournament!

Trite and repetitive criticism for the heck of it is in bad taste ,really kitsch and it is not cricket.Decency and humility and grace is the essence of the sport ,be it in victory or in defeat.

Tactical mistake by Salman Ali Agha. Usman Tariq should have been introduced during the power play and the result could have been entirely different. Hope they learn from their mistake.

It is time for Shaheen Afridi, Shadab and Babar azam to to demonstrate a smidgen of dignity if any and retire.Otherwise they need to be asked to leave with immediate affect. They area waste of resources really.Pakistan team needs only prodigious talent that can turn thing around.Plain and simple.

A viewpoint from across the border I feel Pakistan takes too much of pressure on themselves. Winning toss and fielding first was a disaster in making. Not sure why Mr.Naqvi showed up there after all the drama and hype he created before the game. Having Suryakumar mimicking the mystery spinner and making thier batsman practice shows how well they prepared themselves for this game . This india team looks and behaves a lot professional both on and off the field.. Getting defeated in high profile games is a habit and Pakistan needs a good coach who can motivate thier team maybe someone like Imran khan, Waqar or Wasim Akram..The legendary trio who are sidelined.. Wish you all the luck but only when not playing against India. :-)

Very pathetic performance! Only one correct decision made, calling heads at the toss, and then everything went south thereafter, aur phir charaghon mein roshni na rahi... Khair, what's done is done, as they say. Leking picture abhi baqi hai, there is a whole tournament to play still. Team needs to forget this loss and move on.

Improve your worth and earn respect. Become a super power in cricket through a well structured system which takes time, energy, skill and through a process. Then demand equal revenue. there are no free lunches in this world. India has worked hard to become the dominant cricket nation it is. Respect that with all your other differnces. Yes, Our education system too is top notch. Get the drift.
