The first teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has finally arrived and, in true Miranda Priestly fashion, it enters the chat with icy poise and the kind of tension that instantly transports us back to Runway’s chaotic, unforgettable halls.

Dropped late Wednesday night, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teaser reunites Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway as Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs, a pairing fans have waited nearly two decades to see again.

Streep, who hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2021’s Don’t Look Up, slips effortlessly back into the role of fashion’s most feared editor. Hathaway returns as Andy, this time more confident but once again in Priestly’s orbit.

The pair will be joined by returning cast members Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci with Kenneth Branagh joining the cast as Priestly’s new husband. The film will also feature Simone Ashley, Rachel Bloom and Lucy Liu and reported cameos from Lady Gaga and Sydney Sweeney.

Directed once again by David Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 picks up in a very different fashion landscape. Print magazines are collapsing, digital is king, and Priestly, once untouchable, is suddenly on the back foot.

The film will see her having to build bridges with her former assistant Emily, now someone whose advertising budgets could make or break Runway. If that doesn’t make you want to grab some popcorn and a notebook titled Stuff Miranda Will Never Apologise For, nothing will.

The original 2006 film remains a cultural juggernaut, having grossed over $326 million worldwide and spawning everything from memes to a West End musical.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated to release on May 1, smack in the middle of a sequel-heavy season featuring Scary Movie 6, Toy Story 5, Minions 3 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But Priestly shouldn’t be too worried about competition… that’s all.
