Death follows everyone like a shadow, except the Final Destination franchise, which seems to be alive and kicking.

After the last film, Bloodlines raked up big numbers at the box office, the series has been renewed for a seventh instalment, with Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor set to pen the film’s script.

A report by The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Warner Bros. has greenlit New Line Studios to begin working on the movie, part of the studio’s third-highest-grossing franchise after The Conjuring and Stephen King’s It.

Films of the gory horror-comedy franchise start with a premonition of death coming to the characters in some way or another. The rest of the film revolves around the characters and their futile attempt to avoid their demise.

While five movies demonstrated that this was nearly impossible, Bloodlines began with one character having lived a long life, escaping death’s clutches. However, death leaves no debts unpaid, as the rest of the movie shows.

Producer Craig Perry previously said that the creative decisions taken in the last film were “liberating” and allow for a diverse new range of plotlines in upcoming films.

While no other details have been confirmed, we know there will be death, destruction, and fear all about.
