TRIGGER WARNING: This story contains mentions of domestic violence.

Veteran Punjabi singer Naseebo Lal has decided not to pursue legal action against her husband, Naveed Hussain, despite filing a police complaint accusing him of assault.

In an FIR filed at the Shahdara Town Police Station on Saturday, Lal claimed that she was sitting in the garden at her residence in Shahdara Town at 5pm on Friday when her husband returned home and began verbally abusing her. She alleged that he then struck her face with a brick, injuring the left side and nose.

The singer maintained that Hussain would often fight with her and called for legal action against him.

The report was registered under Section 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty.

However, in a recent statement submitted to the police, she stated that she and her husband resolved the matter among themselves yesterday. She added that she no longer wished to pursue legal action against him.

Any disputes between couples marriage, best way to resolved within themselves and avoid police case. Remember in long lasting marriages, love and minor disputes are part of life that keeps marriages stronger as times go by.

She should leave him and lead a dignified life. Sometimes women also provoke husbands if they are financially weak

Of course she withdrew her complaint. As expected. Just like actress Nargis, Samaa tv hostess Ayesha Jahanzeb and many women before them. This is why the circle of abuse can never end, because most are not willing to follow through with cases, FIR, trial and falls for familial/spousal pressure/blackmail despite being educated, privileged, wealthy and ressourceful. Extremely disappointing. When you are not going to follow through then don't start it and make domestic violence and victims into a farce. Until abusive husbands/in-laws are held accountable, no change will be possible. Maybe next time he attacks her with another brick or worse, she will come to her senses. Such women must be masochistic to stay with such abusers.

A brick in the face is not a minor dispute. She should have taken him to court
