Kanye West logs off X after days-long racist, anti-Semitic and misogynistic rant
Kanye West, known now as Ye, has finally logged off X (formerly known as Twitter), but not before posting a shocking amount of hateful posts, which continued for days, unhindered by X’s moderators. Ranging from misogynistic to anti-Semitic, Ye’s posts attacked Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Jewish people, white people and many others.
On Monday, his account was taken down, but it is unclear whether it was by him or the platform. All of his posts have also been removed.
However, before exiting the platform, he announced his departure and thanked X head Elon Musk for allowing him to “vent”.
Many of his posts were blatantly anti-Semitic, calling for Jewish people to be “made into slaves” and proclaiming his love for Adolf Hitler, telling people to call him “Yaydolf”. He also claimed to be a nazi and posted pictures of swastikas.
During the Super Bowl this Sunday, he appeared in a bizarre ad, apparently filmed on an iPhone while he sat in a dentist’s chair and redirected people to the website for his brand Yeezy. The only item on the website is a white t-shirt with a large black swastika on it.
Among other things, he also said women lied about being raped, denounced the Me Too movement, made fatphobic remarks and claimed to have had an affair with Ivanka Trump. He also posted explicit pornographic videos to his account.
He also attacked Lamar for being “controlled” by white men, and slammed a video shown during Lamar’s performance of Swift dancing to his song. Among other things, he also called for P Diddy to be released and expressed his support for Chris Brown. Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, is currently in jail as he awaits trial in a sex trafficking case, while Brown was convicted of assaulting fellow singer Rihanna and is being investigated for rape.
Unsurprisingly, Ye also said Musk was “the most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter,” adding that the Tesla CEO “stole my Nazi swag.” Musk was slammed for giving a nazi salute to a rally after Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
All this comes after Ye made his wife, Bianca Censori, walk practically naked on the Grammys red carpet on Feb 3. Censori wore a fur coat and dropped it on the red carpet, showing her translucent dress beneath which she wore no clothes. They were escorted off the red carpet soon after.
Soon after, he revealed in an interview on The Download podcast with Justin Laboy, that he had been previously misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and instead had a form of autism. He also said he hadn’t taken medication since the new diagnosis. “It’s finding stuff that doesn’t block the creativity, obviously that’s what I bring to the world. It’s worth the ramp-up, as long as y’all get the creativity.”
As expected, his posts have drawn widespread condemnation and shock, with many pointing fingers at X for not taking down the posts soon enough.
