Why are Pakistani actors trying to be Jake Paul 2.0?
Why are Pakistani actors attempting to go the Jake Paul route and entering boxing rings?
Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer, notorious for being notorious and for being a weirdo had a viral boxing match against legendary boxer Mike Tyson streaming on Netflix and it seems as though he has inspired many Pakistani actors to enter the ring.
First, there was Khushhal Khan who fought actual athelete Bashar Khan on January 25 and won the match. Khushhal’s celebrity friends Sehar Khan and Ali Raza were there to celebrate his victory in the boxing ring and it was all very UFC documentary meets Instagram photoshoot.
Khushhal’s Instagram reel announcing his win was viewed over two million times and currently boasts 162,000 likes. While these numbers don’t come close to the 65 million viewers who watched Paul and Tyson’s fight, it’s still pretty decent, especially because Khushhal is relatively new to the entertainment industry. So that means people like watching celebrities fight?
Possibly inspired by this, actor Feroze Khan announced that he will fight YouTuber Rahim Pardesi in a boxing match on February 15. His Instagram post garnered over 127,000 likes.
Both Feroze and Pardesi are now posting content about their training, attempting to hype up the event.
However, we simply don’t understand why these actors want to enter the realm of boxing. Is it for the views? The attention? Or is there an underground celebrity fight club we don’t know about? Of course, we wouldn’t know — the first rule of fight club is you do not talk about fight club. However, these celebrities can’t help but put up Instagram posts about their boxing matches so we guess it can’t be all that secret…
Or, perhaps Feroze, Khushhal and any other celebrities who dabble in the sport are soft-launching their careers as action heroes? Who knows.
