Celebrated composer Zulfiqar Ali Attre passes away at 61
Renowned music composer Zulfiqar Ali Attre passed away in Lahore after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 61.
Attre composed music for over 50 films, including Chooriyan, Majajan, and most notably the song ‘Mukhra’ for Sarmad Khoosat’s 2022 film Kamli. He was working as a music director for the film Welcome Punjab which is currently filming, The Express Tribune reported.
Last year, Attre received the Pride of Performance award, Pakistan’s highest civilian honour, for demonstrating excellence in his line of work.
The composer was laid to rest at 1pm on Friday in Khyber Block, Allama Iqbal Town.
Actor Imran Abbas shared a picture with Attre and recalled an instance where his meeting with the composer was postponed but Attre visited him on the set of Tumhare Husn Ka Naam
“Today, we mourn the loss of one of the film industry’s most exceptional music directors. Rest in peace. Another cherished elder who always sent me prayers is gone.”
Khoosat shared the news of Attre’s passing on his Instagram story with a broken heart emoji.
