Euphoria star Jacob Elordi involved in police investigation for allegedly assaulting radio producer
Jacob Elordi is involved in a police investigation in his home country of Australia after allegedly assaulting a radio producer, Variety reported.
The Saltburn actor was at a hotel in Sydney when he was approached by Joshua Fox, a producer for The Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM. Fox claimed that he asked Elordi for some of his bathwater for Jackie O for her birthday — referring to a viral scene in Elordi’s film Saltburn wherein Barry Keoghan’s character drinks Elordi’s character’s bath water. The scene went so viral that a scented candle was named after it and shown to many celebrities, including Elordi himself when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in January.
Elordi asked Fox to stop filming and delete the footage, and then the situation purportedly escalated.
Fox recounted the incident on The Kyle & Jackie O Show and recalled that he said, “I refuse to because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence.” “And then Jacob kind of just flips and he kind of pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat.”
In a statement to Variety, the New South Wales Police said they are investigating the matter.
“Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs,” a statement from NSW Police reads. “Police were told about 3:30pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries. Inquiries into the incident is continuing.”
Representatives for Elordi have not commented on the situation.
The Euphoria actor’s popularity soared recently as he garnered critical acclaim for starring in major productions such as Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, as well as Saltburn, which got him a nomination for best supporting actor at the BAFTA Film Awards. He is set to be in Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada and take on the role of Frankenstien’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s Dr. Frankenstein.
