Four reasons why we’re excited about the BRICS Fashion Summit in Moscow
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit began in Moscow today at the Zaryadye concert hall in Zaryadye Park and will run until December 2. The event aims to bring together professionals, specialists, bloggers, instructors, and emerging fashion designers worldwide and in order to do that, it has a lot planned.
Here are four reasons to pay attention to the event.
Discussions on fashion and its place in the world
The summit features multiple thought-provoking panels addressing pressing questions such as “why not make sustainability fashionable and fashion sustainable?” It will reflect on the industry’s shift towards sustainability and delve into the use of eco-friendly materials, recycling, and upcycling. Industry experts will also explore the potential role of artificial intelligence and its impact on professions like stylists, designers, fashion journalists, and influencers.
Fashion films galore
The summit features a one-day multimedia installation that combines fashion, cinema, and video art. It contains a collection of bright short films that have received awards at international fashion film festivals. The World Fashion Shorts selection includes films from South Africa, North America, Europe, and Central and Southeast Asia.
Fashion shows
The most obvious reason we’re excited is fashion — especially the fashion shows! The event includes fashion shows featuring designers from various regions, such as Lucas Leao (Brazil), CHNNYU (China), David Tlale (South Africa), Alena Akhmadullina (Russia), SADAELS (Argentina), Arzu Kaprol (Turkey), and NIV NIV by KAT, along with a unique collection by Indian designers.
B2B showroom
The event also features a dedicated B2B showroom that provides a platform for designers and brands to present their unique clothing and accessory collections to a professional audience. It aims to facilitate networking and exposure to creative works.
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit builds on the success of the Moscow Fashion Week initiative in June 2022, with a focus on collaboration and innovation in the global fashion landscape.
