‘History is repeating itself’: The internet is celebrating Naseem Shah and his heroics against Afghanistan
That Pakistanis love cricket is an undisputed fact but when you combine cricket with absolute heroics, like those displayed by Naseem Shah during last night’s match against Afghanistan, Pakistanis don’t know how to contain their joy.
The 20-year-old miscued a boundary off fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi and ran jubilantly towards the dressing room as Pakistan scored 11 off the final over to finish with 302-9 in 49.5 overs.
The victory gave Pakistan an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series with the last game in Colombo on Saturday.
Shah isn’t the only one who deserves congratulations right now — Imamul Haq was pivotal in Pakistan’s win too!
Right now, X is full of jubilation and glee.
Especially given that people weren’t too appreciative of the way Afghan bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi got Shadab Khan out with a Mankad dismissal.
It was like history repeated itself.
People were acknowledging how Haq powered his team through to the end.
Everyone had jokes, including Naseem Shah.
They also had a growing list of things he doesn’t like.
The win has taken Pakistan to the top of the ODI rankings!
Congrats to team Pakistan!
