Pradhyuman Maloo, known for his appearance on the first season of the Netflix show Indian Matchmaking, has been accused of domestic abuse, blackmail, and harassment by his wife, Ashima Chauhaan.

While Maloo appeared as a bachelor in the first season, both Maloo and Chauhaan appeared in the second season of the show as a couple. The second season aired in August 2022. The couple began dating in 2020, and tied the knot two years later in February 2022. Maloo revealed how he met Chauhaan in the second season of Indian Matchmaking, saying that they met at a party where he made a cocktail for her, and liked how she was dressed. “When you connect with a person you just connect with a person, you don’t have to make an effort,” he added.

As per a report by The Hindustan Times, Chauhaan left their home in September 2022, and has now filed an FIR in Mumbai against Maloo for alleged physical and emotional abuse. The FIR also accuses Maloo’s family of blackmail and harassment.

“The allegations with FIR lodged are grave and concerning with domestic violence and constant mental, physical abuse at its core,” said Anmol Bartaria, Chauhaan’s legal representative. Chauhaan hasn’t personally commented on the news.

Maloo claims to have no knowledge of the FIR. “I don’t know about it. To the best of my knowledge, we are in settlement talks with the lawyers to resolve our marital issues amicably,” he told the publication.
