Something is amiss in the new trailer for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. For one thing, Pakistan is barely in it and there’s no sight of Babar Azam at all.
We’re number 2 in the ICC’s own ODI ranking, so people are rightfully confused why we’ve pretty much been erased from the video. The video is extremely India heavy, making it seem like they won the last three titles.
In fact, barely anyone else got screen time, other than England and Australia.
The little bit of representation Pakistan did get were shots of them losing, which was pretty weird.
The most noticeable erasure was that of Babar Azam.
This won’t hold Pakistan down, though.
We get that the promo was made by the host country — India — but it’s pretty embarrassing. Erasing Pakistan from a video won’t stop our team from shining and — hopefully — taking home the trophy.
