Kanye’s ‘shenanigans’ will be more ‘damaging to their kids’ than her tape, says Kim Kardashian
Reality star Kim Kardashian finally opened up about how rapper Kanye’s problematic antics are affecting her family. The two got divorced in 2022 after being married for six years. The now-split couple has four kids together: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
In the premiere episode of the family’s Hulu reality series, The Kardashians season 3, Kim revealed how her ex-spouse’s behaviour has been taking a toll on her mental health, according to Entertainment Tonight.
In one scene, Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother and manager, commented on the latter’s psoriasis rash on her leg. “Tell the father of my children to stop acting up, and then I won’t stress out and get psoriasis,” Kim told her.
She also shared details about her anxiety attack with Kris, saying, “I felt like I couldn’t breathe all day”.
Kanye has gone on multiple public tirades against the SKIMS founder and attacked her character. Kim said, “I just get really heartbroken for my mom that she has to deal with so much from so many different sides of people coming at her,” referring to the rapper attacking her mother as well.
“He was the one that started a rumor that said I was hooking up with Drake, that I was having an affair. Our whole marriage he accused me of that publicly,” Kim stated.
She also noted that Kanye would want his approval to be taken over what she says about him on the reality show while he never took approval from her on his lyrics or what he said in interviews.
Addressing her leaked sex tape scandal with rapper Ray J, she said that Kanye constantly brings it up in public. “All of his shenanigans — I don’t even know what the f**k to call it — is gonna be far more damaging to the kids one day than my tape will ever be,” she said before adding, “And I have to sit here and not say anything ever because I know one day my kids will appreciate that. And I know that is the best thing for them.”
She expressed that despite the hostility between the former spouses, she still praises him in front of their children and plays his music in the car.
“I’m the one where s**t could be going down and I get in the car and every day the kids want to blast Dad’s music, and I’m like, ‘He’s the best! Yeah!’ And I put it on, and we’re singing along and inside I’m dying,” Kim said. “I will be his biggest cheerleader to them forever. One day when they see for themselves, I’ll answer whatever they want me to, but it’s just a lot.”
“I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be a part of this narrative,” Kim said, while tearing up. She said that she can never have a bad day because she has to hold it together for everyone to see.
The conversation will continue in the next episode of the reality show.
