Indian director Ayan Mukerji announces dates for Brahmastra 2 and 3
After keeping his silence for months, Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva director Ayan Mukerji has finally revealed when the much awaited sequels are going to release.
He shared an official update regarding the franchise on Instagram, saying: “The time has come - for some updates on the Brahmāstra Trilogy, the Astraverse, and my life!”
“After observing all the love and the feedback on Part One..I have been focused on creating the Vision for Part Two and Part Three,” he wrote.
Mukerji revealed that he has learned that they need a little more time to perfect the scripts of both parts, though he assured viewers that the next two films “will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One.”
Adding that they will be shooting both films simultaneously, the director said, “I have decided that we are going to make the two films.. Together! Allowing them to also release closer together!
The Wake Up Sid director also showed his excitement for another project that he has stepped into. Without revealing the name of the movie, he said, “The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently - a very special movie - to step into and direct! What the movie is.. More on that when the time is right.”
According to Variety, Mukerji will reporetedly be directing Hrithik Roshan’s spy universe film War 2. A trade source revealed to the publication that the producer, Aditya Chopra, is choosing the directors of the YRF spy universe strategically and believes Mukerji would be an apt choice.
Mukerji ended the note by asking for positive energies for himself so that he can do his best. “Opening myself up to all the positive energies in this universe so that I can my best and contribute to the one thing that matters the most to me - Indian Cinema!”
The first part of the franchise of Brahmastra emerged as the biggest Hindi blockbuster of 2022, leaving the fans eagerly awaiting the next two. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan.
