After hours of deliberations, the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee finally answered close to midnight the question millions of Pakistanis had asked — “Will Ramazan begin tomorrow?”
The committee announced even later than usual that yes, the moon has been sighted and the first day of Ramazan will fall on Thursday. And like always, Twitter had a lot to say about it.
It has become a recurring joke.
Do they enjoy making everyone stay glued to their television screens, waiting for the announcement?
And we do mean everyone.
And just when the nation was convinced that the Ramazan moon will take another day to makes its appearance, it showed up.
Our collective question to the moon: when did you get here?
The moon took ALL of us by surprise.
In a second, Ramazan Mubarak messages started flooding our inboxes and everyone began preparing for Sehri.
We must say, the moon must love making a surprise appearance.
At this point, even the moon has got to be surprised.
We couldn’t believe the moon was sighted so late either, but hey, it got us hilarious memes and reactions and we aren’t complaining.
The Ramazan moon took its sweet time showing up but the memes were instantaneous
