Make way, there’s a new duo in town — Mira Sethi and Sajal Aly are starring in a new drama called Kuch Ankahi. The story revolves around three sisters’ paths to themselves and will release on January 15.

On Wednesday, Sethi shared a cute photo with Aly and wrote, “Right before the dance sequence. We stuffed our faces with Shahi supari [betelnut] and danced under the stars — err, I mean, under the glare of our choreographer’s stricttt gaze.” The girls, clad in festive clothes, are hugging, their smiles wide.

Naming the rest of the cast, the Paristaan actor said the drama will release soon. “Sajal. [Syed Muhammad] Ahmed sb. Ali [Safina]. Vinny [Vaneeza Ahmed]. Qudsia [Ali]. Bilal [Abbas]. Shehryar [Munawar]. Irsaa [Ghazal] ji. Asma [Abbas] ji. And many more. Herded, cajoled and loved deeply by Nadeem Baig.”

Sethi told Images that the plot revolves around the three sisters’ “aspirations, wounds [and] trajectories. It’s a story about their empowerment in the real sense of the word: How do they eventually come to know themselves? How do we, as people, come to know ourselves?”

The Chupke Chupke actor also said that the “flavour” of the drama is “Haseena Moin-meets-Anwar Maqsood-meets-Muhammad Ahmed”. In other words, “lots of lighthearted barbs and social commentary on family life and culture”.

Written by Ahmed, the drama is being directed by Baig and produced by Six Sigma Productions. Aly responded to the post saying this was her favourite photo and that she misses Sethi. Actor Zara Noor Abbas and designer HSY also sent the pair their love.

The Mom actor shared the same picture on her Instagram and gushed over her fellow actor saying, “Uffff my Mira. You’re my girl crush! You are shinning in this project and you’ve made me cry with your performance!”
