The Pakistan women’s cricket team is making everyone proud for their win over India in the Women’s Asia Cup
Twitter is celebrating the Pakistan women’s cricket team for their performance at the Women’s Asia Cup and their defeat of India. Cricket fans have joined hands to congratulate the team for their 13-run victory and to praise Nida Dar for her performance.
On Friday, the team played against India a day after they lost to Thailand by four wickets. Dar lead the team by making 56 runs and soon took two wickets, including one of India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
With Dar and team captain Bismah Maroof on the pitch, the duo scored 76 runs with Muneeba Ali shortly taking over and making 17 runs of her own. The team managed to make a total of 137 runs.
Former cricketer Shoaib Malik took to Twitter and expressed how proud he is of the women’s team for beating India. “Captain’s knock from Bismah Maroof and the way Nida Dar showed her class today, that showed her dedication as well,” he wrote, praising the bowlers as well.
Hassan Ali said the team has made us proud again.
Mohammad Hafeez also congratulated the team and called Dar a “superstar”.
TV host Fakhr-e-Alam wished the team “all the success” and said he’s proud of them.
One user called called Friday a “good day” because of the team’s win.
Another credited Dar for her “all round effort” as well as the entire team for playing “quality cricket”.
This user commended the fielding.
Another user relished the fact that both Pakistani cricket teams were victorious today.
“History has been made,” wrote one user, hoping that the team wins the tournament too.
After putting an end to India’s winning run in the tournament, the Pakistan women’s team will be playing their next match against the UAE on Sunday.
