Netizens celebrate Nida Dar as women's cricket team secures first World Cup series win in 13 years

The victory against the West Indies ended the Green Shirts' 18-match losing streak.

The Men in Green have made us proud with the heights they've soared to but step aside — it's time for the women to shine. The Pakistan Women's Cricket team finally secured their first World Cup series win after 18 consecutive losses and Pakistani Twitter couldn't be happier. Nida Dar stood out as the star of the show and secured both the Player of the Match title and a place in everyone's hearts.

Pakistan secured their first victory of the 2022 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, beating the West Indies by eight wickets in Hamilton, Ontario. Pakistani spinners helped restrict the West Indies to 89/7 before the batters kept their calm to seal an eight-wicket victory.

Captain Bismah Maroof expressed her gratitude and named some players who performed exceptionally well in the match, including Dar.

Dar called it the "one of the most memorable moments" of her career.

Netizens followed suit in appreciating the win and Dar for registering figures of 4/10 in her four overs.

Dar's comment about the Afridis being her favourite players and inspiring the way she celebrates wins has been making rounds on Twitter.

Comparisons were made.

"Lady Boom Boom" has arrived.

Everyone is all praises for the Player of the Match.

Congratulations to the star and her team!

Heartiest congratulations to Pakistan's Women Cricket Team in securing the First World Cup in series. The fans of cricket in Pakistan would also like to witness matches played by the Women Cricket Team in the country similar to men cricket T-20 and test matches series. Hopefully, the PSL organisers would also consider in training number of women cricket players in the country from all the for provinces so that Pakistan's Women Cricket Team should be able to play PSL and test matches in the country as well as in other foreign countries with other Women Cricket Teams.

Wao a victory after 18 losses and 13 years and we are celebrating like we have won the WC. I think PCB needs to overhaul the women cricket team and focus on giving them more exposure at the international front. In all honesty this is not a moment to celebrate but to introspect
