Sajal Aly’s upcoming international project What’s Love Got to Do With It? just premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and it has got everyone cheering the superstar on.

Written and co-produced by Jemima Khan, the film was screened at the prestigious festival on Saturday. The cross-cultural British rom-com follows a filmmaker Zoe (Lily James) and juxtaposes her journey to love (swiping on dating apps and bad dates) with that of her close friend Kazim’s (Shazad Latif) who decides to opt for an arranged marriage with Maymouna (Aly). It will release in cinemas on January 27.

As fans eagerly await the movie’s release, even a glimpse of the Mom actor is enough to have their chests swell up with pride. Stars from the industry such as her sister Saboor Aly, Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed and Shehzad Roy congratulated Aly on the accomplishment.

As the “queen” should.

We can’t wait either!

Fans couldn’t help but adore the “desi touch” the bangles added to her outfit.

They were also reminded of her character from Alif. In a reversal, life seems to be imitating art in her case.

Fan edits are inevitable.

They can’t get enough of the duo! Some more BTS action, please.

The actor is doing us all proud!

Congratulations to the star! May she keep soaring high.
