Music is an entity that knows no borders — and sometimes musicians don’t either. Indian rapper Badshah liked Asim Azhar’s new song ‘Habibi’ so much, he decided to message the singer and let him know about it.

On Friday, Azhar shared a screenshot of the chat on his Instagram story. “Tripping on ‘Habibi’,” wrote Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, known by his stage name Badshah. He added the 100 emoji and the red heart emoji.

The ‘Ghalat Fehmi’ singer responded saying it meant a lot to him coming from the rapper. To which Badshah said, “What a song you’ve made brother, the melody is unbelievably good.” Azhar sent his love to his “big brother”, who replied with the folded hands emoji, used to describe gratitude or respect.

Azhar added a high five emoji and a teary eyed emoji, touched by the interaction and grateful.

The ‘Chal Jaan De’ singer dropped ‘Habibi’ on Monday captioned, “Had a fight with your partner and you don’t know how to make it up? ‘Habibi’ — the new song by Asim Azhar — is THE song for you. It’s the patch-up song of the season and a whole new vibe. Listen, feel and rekindle the love.”

The official video is a slideshow of artsy, animated stills with the lyrics playing on screen. With bright neon lights and the ‘Jo Tu Na Mila’ singer holding an umbrella as the screen shows raindrops falling in slow motion, it sets the perfect vibe for this monsoon season.
