Kajol says she never wanted to become a part of Bollywood
It seems like many Bollywood stars weren't all too enthusiastic about joining the industry in the first place. Kajol has followed in Sonali Bendre's footsteps and revealed that entering the industry was never her priority.
In the Marathi version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the actor revealed she never wanted to become an actor and wanted to do a regular job instead.
According to Hindustan Times Kajol said, "I never wanted to become a part of the Bollywood or Hindi film industry. I did not want to enter the industry as an actress. I always wanted to do a job. A job where I could get a pay cheque in my account every month.”
She made her acting debut with the 1992 film Bekhudi alongside her mother and went on to deliver hit after hit such as Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Ishq and Fanaa.
Three years ago, in an interview with PTI, she said she became an actor by chance. "I did not have a great start. My first film did not do well. I have never considered it (acting) as a career, it happened to me and I just went with the flow. I was always on my toes (while choosing a film) and have been choosy always. I had a great time working on all the films, I met some amazing people. I still think of my work as a play time and rather my work is at home," she had said.
The actor was last seen in 2021 film Tribhanga starring Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar. Currently, she's working on Salaam Venky, which was previously titled The Last Hurrah.
