After waiting two long years, veteran actor Asif Raza Mir's Bafta-winning series Gangs of London is finally releasing a second season and the teaser is out now. The actor plays the role of Asif Afridi, a Pakistani gang leader engaged in the fight to run the city in the British-American series.

"'What does it feel like to be a King?' #GangsOfLondon series 2 is coming soon @SkyTV," Asif captioned the teaser, quoting the concluding dialogue from the video. Sky TV released the "official teaser trailer" on May 10. The release date was not specified but the year was confirmed — "coming 2022," it read.

The video featured snippets of different scenes that hint at exhilarating action sequences with the characters flashing through while the narrator speaks of the power dynamic in the world and the feeling of being "a pawn in someone else's game." And it ended with one of the main characters Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù's ex-undercover cop Elliot Finch asking "What does it feel like, to be a king?"

"One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of series one, the map and soul of London has been re-drawn. The surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and Elliot is now being forced to work for the investors," read the caption for the teaser.

In support of his father's series making a comeback, actor Ahad Raza Mir shared Asif's Instagram post on his story and added "So excited!!!" to it.

The cast includes Paapa Essiedu, Lucian Msamati, Michelle Fairley, Orli Shuka, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Brian Vernel, Narges Rashidi, Asif and Valene Kane alongside Dìrísù. The new season will also be bringing in some new faces — Waleed Zuaiter (Baghdad Central) as Koba, French rapper Jasmine Armando in her first TV role as Saba, Fady El-Sayed (A Private War) as Faz, Salem Kali (Dealer) as Basem and Aymen Hamdouchi (SAS: Red Notice) as Hakim.

Created and directed by Gareth Evans, the story places immense importance on family and revolves around the complicated power shift that takes place with the transfer of authority. It asks questions like what's the power of vacuum and what becomes of the infrastructure?

In an earlier conversation with Images, Asif shared that ''it was great working with a multicultural cast, creative and visionary director and an efficient and grand production."

Thought it might be a mockumentary on the likes of Altaf Hussain, Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, etc. that try to run Pakistan while sitting in London
