Actor Muneeb Butt claps back at Reham Khan over insinuation on favours for celebrities supporting PM Imran
Political tensions aren't just running high in parliament, they are at pitch fever on social media also. With the no-trust vote just around the corner, many celebrities have publicly voiced support for Prime Minister Imran Khan on social media. Journalist and author Reham Khan took to social media and said that such celebrities "had better get heavy investments for their film projects" in return — a tweet that actor Muneeb Butt heartily disagreed with.
After the opposition submitted the no-trust motion against the prime minister on March 8, Saba Qamar, Adnan Siddiqui and other celebrities professed their loyalty towards the premier. While some took to Instagram and Twitter to share their views, others like actors Haroon Shahid and Ahmed Ali Butt showed their support on-ground at Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's (PTI) mega rally that was held in Islamabad on March 27.
Reham took to Twitter on March 27 in response to the outpouring of celebrity support, "All these actors giving endorsements to the Kupitaan [captain] had better get heavy investments for their film projects," she said.
Many netizens responded to Reham's tweet, including the Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat actor Muneeb Butt who definitely didn't mince his words.
Khan and Reham got divorced with mutual consent after 10 months of marriage in 2015. They had tied the knot in a simple nikah ceremony which took place the same year at Khan's Bani Gala residence in Islamabad.
