Kim Kardashian and Ye's — formerly known as Kanye West — separation has been anything but simple and the American rapper refusing divorce hasn't made it any easier. The 'Junya' singer has made a public spectacle of the aftermath, refusing to come to terms with his wife's new partner and it has caused a great deal of "emotional distress" for Kardashian to have to deal with Ye's social media rants. She has filed for a termination of the marital status, believing it'll help all parties involved to heal and move on.

"I very much desire to be divorced," a new filing in their divorce case, obtained by CNN on Feb 24, stated. "I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress."

Kardashian's court filing continued, "I believe that the Court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said she wished their marriage would have succeeded but has come to the realisation that there is no way to repair it. "Kanye does not agree [to end the marriage] but at least it appears that he has come to the realisation that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not.

"I ask that the Court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives," read the filing.

Kardashian filed for a divorce in Feb 2021 after almost seven years of marriage. Ye, however, has not come to terms with it, even a year later and has used his Instagram account to publicly criticise his wife's new relationship and her parenting. He has also publicly asked for her to take him back at a concert.

Netizens have been critical of Ye's behaviour, calling it harassment. The Donda rapper recently issued an apology on his Instagram, promising to do better.

The former couple has four kids together and have been co-parenting them since the separation.
