Shae Gill watching the 'Pasoori' MV for the first time is the most wholesome thing you'll see today
If there's one thing you need to see on the internet today, it's singer Shae Gill's reaction to 'Pasoori'.
Coke Studio brought together Gill and singer Ali Sethi for its latest song 'Pasoori' which became a massive hit amongst listeners who dug its reggaeton meets classical music vibe. So far, the music video has garnered more than two million views on YouTube. It has been written by Sethi and Fazal Abbas, while the composition has been done by Sethi and Zulfiqar J Khan, popularly known as Xulfi. The music has been produced by Abdullah Siddiqui and Xulfi.
Gill shared an Instagram video of her reacting to the music video after its release on February 8. Watching the singer go from being happy to emotionally overwhelmed to downright ecstatic brings joy to our hearts.
The reaction even had Xulfi teary-eyed in the comments. "This actually put tears in my eyes too. Jeeti raho Shae Gill," he said.
Sethi couldn't help put drop some fire emojis to root for the singer in the comments.
Sethi shared some behind-the-scene clips from the set of 'Pasoori' on Instagram as well. "We hadn’t finished writing lyrics until 12 hours before the shoot," he shared in the caption. "I got Covid on the set , but what an insanely fulfilling project from start to end. Zulfiqar J Khan took many risks and indulged all my last minute fancies, I am indebted to you and so grateful. Abdullah Siddiqui, you are insanely gifted and an absolute unicorn — I still can’t fathom how you banger-ified what was otherwise a ditty in my head?"
He gave a shoutout to his co-singer as well. "Shae Gill I’ve had a hundred people tell me you are 'the Dua Lipa of Pakistan' (you are you, and there’s no one like you)."
It's not just the public who love the song — 'Pasoori' also garnered reactions from actors Adnan Malik and Ahmed Ali Butt on social media.
"'Pasoori' has to be the most visually appealing song yet," said Butt. "The song is flawlessly performed by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill and not to mention Xulfi, Abdullah Siddiqui and the team who have delivered yet again. The lyrics are a joy and beautifully synced with the melody."
According to Coke Studio, Sethi wrote 'Pasoori' at a time when local performers were barred from working across the border. The song turns angst into art, its lyrics "inspired by the need to celebrate artistic self-expression".
