Drama Sang-e-Mah is set to get a cinematic premiere on January 7. The drama's star-studded cast includes Kubra Khan, Sania Saeed, Naumaan Ijaz, Mikaal Zulfiqar, singer Atif Aslam, Hania Aamir and Zaviyar Ejaz. It's a sequel to 2016's Sang-e-Mar Mar.

The drama, which will air on HUM TV on Jan 9, will screen its first episode in theatres. A representative for Hum TV told Images that the drama has "potential" and that the TV channel is always trying different things for their projects.

The spokesperson also added that there isn't much going in our theatres in terms of local content, which is why they hope that the episode will allow viewers to enjoy something Pakistani-centric content on the big screen.

The drama will deal with sensitive issues such as ghag — a custom where a call is made by a man to claim a woman for marriage. Aamir had previously explained what the custom is and said it is a form of an announcement which insinuates that "this girl is my bride and anyone who tries to send a proposal will meet a distasteful fate."

The 2016 drama followed a family belonging to the tribal areas of Pakistan and their traditional values that are prioritised over love and even their lives. Sang-e-Mar Mar was declared a hit so expectations are higher than normal for this project.
