Band's frontman Chris Martin reveals Coldplay will stop recording music as a band in 2025.

"I came along, I wrote a song for you, and all the things you do, and it was called Yellow"

Forgive the dramatic intro but we couldn't help ourselves given that Chris Martin has revealed Coldplay will stop recording music as a band in 2025.

The UK band's frontman was speaking on BBC Radio 2 and in the teaser for the upcoming interview shared the group's intention to wrap up making new music by 2025.

"Our last proper record will come out in 2025, and after that I think we will only tour," he was quoted as saying by BBC.

"And maybe we'll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then."

Speaking to NME earlier this year, Martin said that the plan was always for Coldplay to make 12 albums. “[I]t’s a lot to pour everything into making them. I love it and it’s amazing, but it’s very intense too,” he had said.

“I feel like because I know that challenge is finite, making this music doesn’t feel difficult, it feels like, ‘This is what we’re supposed to be doing’.”

The band released their ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres, earlier this year, featuring 12 tracks with waves of synth and airy melodies.

Coldplay is scheduled to go on an international tour in support of Music of the Spheres in 2022, marking the band's first time touring since their A Head Full of Dreams Tour in 2016 and 2017, according to People magazine.

The band had announced they'll be powering their upcoming world tour via a dance floor that generates electricity when fans jump on it at the venues.

While getting our hands on those concert tickets might be a stretch, a playlist of the band's songs can be easily arranged — and for now, that's what you'll find us listening to!

Finally! Coldplay hasn't released a good album since A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Yellow, Fix you, and I think pretty much all of their songs are favorites of mine.

Why does the media fall for such publicity seeking nonsense. Without wishing any of Coldplay ill (I am a big fan), anything can befall any of them well before 2025 so they are being highly presumptious in expecting to keep up a successful output until then. If they said they would disband next year, fair enough. Four years is a long time!
