Azaan Sami Khan's 'Ik Lamha' teases a glimpse of Karachi of the 60s
Azaan Sami Khan is back with another music video and this time it stars Maya Ali as his love interest. The teaser for his music video 'Ik Lamha' was shared via social media on December 22.
The music video is set in Karachi in 1964 complete with horse carts and vintage cars. The video shows Sami at a cabaret of sorts with Gatsby styled showstoppers dancing in the back. Sami wears a tuxedo while his ladylove dons a dramatic 60s hairdo and embellished mustard outfit.
The teaser also highlights an engagement ring on Ali's hand and red henna. The voiceover also reveals that this could be the couple's last meeting.
"You don't think you're worthy of me, for once I admit. I can't accept someone else as my own how shall I convince myself? I will come to meet you for the last time, let me know about your final decision," Ali says in the teaser.
The teaser seems more like that of a film than a music video. The storyline isn't the only dramatic element in the teaser — the piano score in the background is as suspenseful as Ali's dialogue. The audio from the teaser seems to be a blend of qawwali and electric guitar score with tablas playing in the background. We didn't hear Khan's vocals as the teaser focuses more on the instrumental and dialogue delivered by Ali.
Fellow celebrities also wished Sami well for his new music with close pal Mahira Khan leaving fire emojis under his Instagram post. Amar Khan, Bilal Ashraf, Ahmed Ali Butt, filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi and model Mehreen Syed also followed suit.
The music video is helmed by Ehteshamuddin who also directed Superstar starring Mahira and Ashraf. 'Ik Lamha' is the third single off Khan’s debut album, Main Tera. The lyrics for the song have been penned by award-winning lyricist AM Turaz. The official audio will be released today, December 23, and official video on December 25.
