Remember Ted Mosby from the iconic How I Met Your Mother series? The much-loved character is being reinvented by American actor Hilary Duff. She's taking centre stage in a sequel to the show called How I Met Your Father, which is going to be released on the streaming platform Hulu.
The upcoming series will be released on January 18, 2022. Its trailer is out, showing Duff's character Sophie navigating her crazy love life in New York alongside her close group of friends in 2022. An older future-Sophie is heard narrating her single's life adventures to her future child (or children), telling them know how she eventually met their father. The story is a fresh take on dating and romance in the times of dating apps and limitless options.
Duff, the star of the hit 2001 show Lizzie McGuire, shared the trailer on social media as well and expressed how excited she felt about the upcoming series. "I couldn’t be more obsessed with this pack of weirdos and I am very proud of our show!" she wrote. "Everyone involved has added something special and, holy moly, January 18 here we come!"
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show has been created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, with the original How I Met Your Mother creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, acting as executive producing. The show stars Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Suraj Sharma alongside Duff.
