Newly appointed Rajasthan minister Rajendra Singh Gudha went down in social media history over a strange remark he made publicly in relation to Bollywood Katrina Kaif's cheeks.

According to India Today, in a video that is being widely shared online, the Indian National Congress minister is seen interacting with people in Udaipurwati, his assembly constituency, during which some villagers demanded that the roads in the area be repaired.

In response to their demand, Gudha is heard saying: "In my constituency, roads should be made like Katrina Kaif's cheeks."

The man repeated the statement again, clearly enjoying the response it got from his audience.

Comparing roads to Bollywood actresses seems to be a thing in India, according to India Today. In 2005, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav promised to make Bihar’s roads as smooth as actor Hema Malini’s cheeks. Her cheeks became a hot topic again in 2019 when Madhya Pradesh's law minister PC Sharma said the state's pothole-ridden roads would soon be made pretty like Malini's cheeks.

Indian netizens were not happy with Gudha's misogynistic statement.

"Politicians and their obsession with actresses’ cheeks. Generation changes from Hema Malini to Katrina Kaif, but the tharak [perversion] remains the same," tweeted a user.

"Sexism in Indian politics continues to be [cringe-worthy]," commented another user.

"Objectifying women?" a user pondered correctly.

Talk about your strange (and clearly offensive) analogies. Here's hoping Gudha's remarks are the last we've heard of Bollywood actor's physical features being compared to roads.

Nothing wrong . She has flawless smooth skin. They keep advertising for creams and beauty products . Can you imagine if he said that he wants to make roads like the late Om Puris cheeks? All I am saying is do some comparison.
