Hajra Yamin's upcoming drama Meray Apnay broaches the social issue of 'watta satta'
Hajra Yamin is all set to appear alongside Ali Abbas in the upcoming drama Meray Apnay that will be broadcast on ARY Digital.
Last seen in Tera Ghum Aur Hum and Ehd e Wafa, the actor took to social media to post a picture of herself and Abbas in character from the drama. "We’re coming for you very soon!" she wrote in the caption.
In a comment to Images, Yamin shared a few details about Meray Apnay. "The drama is an ensemble cast, " she said. "It has a big cast, and so it is not just Ali Abbas and myself, there's also prominent actors such as Waseem Abbas, Zoya Nasir, Arez Ahmed, Zainab Shabbir, Usama Khan [and others].
"Basically it is a story revolving around two households but it's one big family. In the family, the characters played by Ali and myself, we like each other. The father, because he wants to make his family financially secure, insists that we marry through 'watta satta' [bride exchance]. It's more of a household story and hopefully there will be things about the story that the audience can resonate with," Yamin explained.
ARY Digital has also shared a teaser for the drama on social media. calling it an "intense drama that depicts a slice of life".
According to ARY Digital's website, Meray Apnay has been made in collaboration with iDream Entertainment and directed by Mohsin Mirza and Tahseen Khan.
