Actor Aagha Ali is not happy with how publications have portrayed him recently. He took to social media to slam "irresponsible journalism" that misconstrued his remarks about the women the actor has worked with in the entertainment industry.

Ali — who has starred in television dramas such as Dil-e-Gumshuda and Band Khirkiyan — posted on his Instagram Stories and highlighted how various publications falsely reported the actor's remarks from his recent interview to Urdu News. Reports alleged that the actor had called women in the entertainment industry 'fake'.

"Really sad to see how your words can be twisted to sound so negative just so these media pages can get some attention and likes," Ali wrote on his Instagram Stories. "I'm so disappointed. I will soon address all the nonsense these pages are posting and will take legal action if required. Till then believe in 'what you see me saying' rather than what you read [from other sources]."

"Sadly the journalism I see nowadays is just irresponsible," Ali continued. "They don't care how the person they are writing about would feel about it. No one reconfirmed my statement!"

In his interview with Urdu News, the actor was asked why he chose fellow actor Hina Altaf as his life partner. “I met a lot of women while working, I made friends with a few but many of them were very artificial," he had said. "I mean, they weren’t what they presented themselves to be. While working with Hina I realised she’s a very real person and didn’t have those fake traits. She speaks the truth and minds her own business."

Altaf also took to Instagram to clarify that the statement had been misreported by various publications. "He said 'most of the girls I met in my life were fake', " she posted on her Instagram Stories. "He never used the words 'women in the industry'. These are entirely two different statements that hold different meanings," she wrote.

The actor recently announced his directorial debut with upcoming web-film Raat. He had shared the promotional poster of the film on social media and announced the film's release in August.

Not a fan of his acting but I agree with whatever he is saying about fake celebrities in Pakistani showbiz. Many actors present a fake image before media and pretend to be something that they are not in real life.

Tell him to dress like a man first. He seems like he is about to star in a Pakistani version of "The Bee Movie"
