Some of the biggest names in film gathered along the French Riviera to attend the Cannes Film Festival this year and celebrities wore the best of what global fashion and couture has to offer.

The Cannes Film festival — held in Cannes, France — showcases films and documentaries of various genres from around the world annually. The festival is finally being held after being postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We've compiled a list of our favourite outfits from the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain

American actor and producer Jessica Chastain was seen on the red carpet in an elegant pairing of Dior Haute Couture and Chopard Jewellery.

Leila Bekhti

French film and television actor Leila Bekhti wore Givenchy and we love the outfit's gown-inspired reinterpretation of a suit.

Masoom Minawala

Indian fashion influencer Masoom Minawala arrived on the red carpet wearing a gorgeous ensemble by designer Manish Malhotra. We love the overall look, and apparently the internet can't help but love it too. Minawala's look was widely shared on social media.

Carla Bruni

French-Italian Carla Bruni singer and songwriter wore a gorgeous ice blue Celine dress.

Bella Hadid

Here is another netizen favourite and we quite agree. Model Bella Hadid looks ethereal in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier Couture outfit.

Diipa Büller-Khosla

Fashion influencer Diipa Khosla's lehnga by Falguni Shane Peacock definitely deserves an honourable mention for its eye-catching design and glamorous desi chic.

@Chrís Dăn cavemen wore dresses to protect themselves. To cover themselves from the sun, mosquitoes, cold and what not. Your so called civilised worlds are wearing clothes that would embarass the cavemen and cave ladies. Throw them into the wilderness with such clothes on and they'll be wishing they'd worn better stuff. Keep your ideas of civility to your messed up head. One needs to act civil not look it...

Only thing is the tauba tauba audience were the people who belong to the masses, the lower to upper middle classes and they're probably not even aware who Jessica is. So stop being silly. Pakistani people every right to say tauba tauba as they are the ones who make our actors and actresses into celebrities. They watch their dramas. And our celebrities have a duty to represent the majority audience. They do so in dramas so why not in award shows?

You need to watch Paris, Newyork, Milan couture fashion week more. You will find woman's cloths less controversial and digestable to your taste, then men's.
