Asim Azhar is back in the news again, this time for rumours that he has gotten engaged to model Merub Ali. His name was on everyone's lips after a public spat with Hania Aamir and this time everyone is talking about his supposed engagement. But much to Twitter's disappointment, the Jo Tu Na Mila singer denied the rumour.

"The screenshot floating around of my chat with a fan is FAKE. I request all to not spread it any further," the singer wrote, rubbishing the news of his conversation with a fan that had gone viral.

The screenshot in question was of an Instagram message from Azhar in which he ‘asked’ the user to not post things that could affect his family and friends. “She’s [Merub] a really good family friend of mine, I consider her just like my sister and I request you to please remove the posts portraying wrong messages,” it read .

In his tweet, Azhar assured his followers that if there was any milestone in his life, he would be the one to break the news himself.

"Any announcement regarding my life will be made from me directly to you like always. I love you guys," he posted.

However, the news did not sit well with fans who realised that Azhar had avoided directly commenting on the news of his "engagement" and only denied any truth behind the screenshot.

Guess we'll just have to wait for another announcement.
