Veteran actor Anwar Iqbal Baloch passed away on Thursday after suffering from a protracted illness. He was in his 70s.

He will be remembered for making Pakistan's first Balochi language film and his role in several Urdu and Sindhi dramas, including Shama and Akhri Chataan.

Actor and lead vocalist of the band Call, Junaid Khan, said Iqbal will always be remembered as a kindhearted soul.

Actor Tipu Sharif expressed his sorrow at learning of the deaths of Iqbal and Nabeel and prayed for them.

Actor Adnan Siddiqui said Iqbal "gave a tough fight to cancer". "Your talent and kindness will be missed by the industry," he wrote.

Our hearts go out to Iqbal's family at this difficult time.
