Celebrities mourn the loss of veteran actor Anwar Iqbal
Veteran actor Anwar Iqbal Baloch passed away on Thursday after suffering from a protracted illness. He was in his 70s.
He will be remembered for making Pakistan's first Balochi language film and his role in several Urdu and Sindhi dramas, including Shama and Akhri Chataan.
A few months ago, Anwar's wife also passed away, a close relative said. The actor has left behind four daughters.
Several members of the entertainment community posted about their grief at his passing.
Singer Shehzad Roy called the news really sad.
Actor Asad Siddiqui lamented that the industry had lost two greats in a single day — Iqbal and Asma Nabeel. "Learn to appreciate, respect and love each other while they are alive," he said.
Actor and lead vocalist of the band Call, Junaid Khan, said Iqbal will always be remembered as a kindhearted soul.
Actor Tipu Sharif expressed his sorrow at learning of the deaths of Iqbal and Nabeel and prayed for them.
Actor Adnan Siddiqui said Iqbal "gave a tough fight to cancer". "Your talent and kindness will be missed by the industry," he wrote.
