Two-time Academy Award and four-time Emmy winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy's Karachi-based production house SOC Films has earned two more nominations for the television academy. The nominations are for the international series Fundamental. Gender Justice. No Exceptions.

Fundamental. Gender Justice. No Exceptions. is a character-driven five-episode docuseries shot in Brazil, Georgia, Kenya, the USA and Pakistan. The series is a look into political and social leaders from around the world working for fundamental human rights. The social causes the series follows range from ending child marriage in Pakistan to pursuing LGBTQI liberation in Georgia.

The series has been nominated in the categories of Outstanding Short Form Daytime Non-Fiction Programme and Outstanding Directing Team for A Single-Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program.

Chinoy announced the nomination on social media. "Super excited to announce that SOC Films has been nominated for Two DayTime Emmy Awards for our global series, Fundamental. Gender Justice. No Exceptions. Proud of the team and wish us good luck!" she wrote.

About the series, she said, "It is a global series filmed in five countries, advocating for women who champion other women."

We're so proud of Chinoy and her team, who have been making Pakistan proud with their exceptional work and hope to see them win many more awards in the future!

Winning an Oscar by portraying negative image of your country to the West isn't something to be proud of. You should be ashamed of yourself Sharmeen.

Smart opportunist, good connections, acquainted to elites social gatherings, it’s quite comfortable for SOC to grab attention & get awards. SOC deserves limited appreciation until as a Karachiiite SOC pay attention to betrayals, injustices, discrimination, perpetuated by PPP Sindh feudal diaspora, against the urbans population amounting to more than 3 crores of individuals, will SOC do something for Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Nawabshah, etc is yet to be seen.

Time for directors like Sharmeen Obied to star making movies the good side of Pak life and society rather than going with the flow

I know a person who love to read books based on sad stories. When I asked her why don’t you read books that have a lighter side to life like Mrs Bennet in pride n prejudice but she said funny stories are so boring. I’ve learnt that it’s the perspective held by a person that is most difficult to change. They can only follow a certain track perhaps because they found it easy or it gave them a formula for success. But they must try to highlight the brighter side of life. They may be more successful. I’d like to convey the same to Ms Chinoy.

@Abdul Sattar there is lot of positive things happening in our country like traders in Sialkot made an airport with their own money n now they’re running an airline as well. Traders in gujranwala r talking of running a freight train between karachi n gujranwala. The free food for all in karachi is one big remarkable thing. There are excellent schools run by individuals in Karachi’s slums n at no cost. These are few of many many good things happening in our country. Negative propaganda hasn’t put us down so far n it certainly won’t have any negative impact on our determination to do positive things for our dear mother land

@Akil Akhtar look at the joy in her face after winning that awards for belittling her own country: she seems to be more interested in winning these awards than helping the poor!

Is western world not prone to injustice..discrimination social issues ...they are ..why they always target the third world countries ..specially the Muslim world..The foundation of Hollywood alchemically turned celluloid into gold and insincerity into an art form.
